Honestly, I stole this idea from Jack...hee hee...sorry! But I think this is a good way for people at home to keep track of what's going on in my life here at Vanderbilt, so here it goes...
I want to start out by telling you a little bit about myself...I'm eighteen and a freshman at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. I lived in Arlington, TX for my entire childhood and so this is a pretty big step away from home for me. In the past few years I have gradually become my own person, and people who know me well can tell you that it hasn't always been a pleasant "quest for discovery", but recently some things have taught me "practical application of God in everyday life" (remember that Erin?).
Overall, I guess what I want people to know about "daily basis me" is that I sing, I write on occasion, I play the guitar (hush Chad, I'm really trying!!), and I try to get closer to God. As you look through the site, you'll find pictures of my first semester at college, written updates on life in Nashville, and just little things I want to share with you, whatever those might be! Enjoy!

Yep, that's right...that's me...and that one down there is too...The top one is one of my senior portraits in my prom dress, and the bottom is a lovely (and completely serious) picture of Chastity, Reginald, and I in all our paint-fighting glory...

Okay kids, I know you're all dying to know what's been going on lately, and I've been TERRIBLE about updating this thing, but I think that's mildly excusable since I had mono for weeks and weeks on end...In society news, it has been brought to our attention that Nathan is not QUITE the so-called "Prince Charming" we once believed him to be, but rather is, in the words of the immortal Audrey Hepburn, a "super rat"...and not even as rich as darling Rusty Drawler! If you hadn't gathered by now, we broke up. *tear* Oh wait...not sad...I almost forgot, he's stuck in a self-detrimental pattern of "date them, line up another just in case, and when they're most comfy, DUMP!!!" Hehe...that, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call...Cuh-LOSURE. In local news, the state of Tennessee has issued a "Holy cow, Haylie's got a date to a DKE formal!" warning, effective until Feb. 14 at approximately, well, early the next morning. Watch for falling debris in the aftermath. In weather, IT'S SNOWING! In sports, I'm very seriously considering quitting the EqT...the captain won't return my phone calls! (What is it about my phone calls that makes them so freaking hard to return? *cough*CHAD*cough*) And finally wrapping up our report, in national news, STEVEN'S COMING TO VISIT!!!!!!!! :) |
